Last week, 4th Class played ‘Guess Who’ as Gaeilge! It was a super way to get a handle on some irregular past tense verbs and have some fun at the same time!

Second Class has been learning all about the Chinese New Year and the representing animals. The children looked at traditional Chinese instruments and different traditions in the country.
Everyone made Chinese paper lanterns to help with the Year of the Dragon celebrations!

Junior Infants are learning lots about the continent of Africa in Aistear. The children set up markets, played with African animals in small world, built some homes, created beautiful artwork and even went on their own safari to the Secret Garden.
It was a great adventure with lots of exploration and fun!
The Girls hockey team scored an easy three points with a walkover on Tuesday. The team would have much preferred to play the game. They continue their unbeaten streak going into their final fixture on Thursday Feb 22nd against Our Lady of Mercy.

Senior infants continue to learn and explore house and homes in Aistear and are currently designing their own lighthouses.
They have also been learning about and playing with the number 8 and they took some time to draw 8 of their favourite things.

Last week, 5th & 6th class girls won their match against Guardian Angels National School making it two wins from two games! It was a super game and lots of experience was gained by the team. Final score was 4:1.
Wishing the team the very best of luck against St Brigid’s Cabinteely this afternoon! Break a leg team!
2nd Class sent Christmas cards to people in the St Anne’s unit in Castlebar Hospital and they have each received thank you cards in response! They are so grateful to receive the cards and that their kind gesture was appreciated by people in need.
A big go raibh maith agaibh to all the pupils from 2nd to 6th class who took part in this year’s Multiple Sclerosis Ireland Readathon! 273 books were read by 57 children, and the total raised for MS Ireland was €1,601!

Throwback Tuesday!
Before Christmas, our 2nd-6th classes had a talk from a parent of the school, speaking to us all about the importance of being safe online and how to treat others.
It was well received and we all learned something!
