Its National C.O.W. Day Tomorrow!

National C.O.W. (Cycle on Wednesdays/Weekdays) Day-May 15th is an annual highlight of Bike Week which we are enjoying presently!

We would love to see as many of you as possible cycle to school tomorrow – this could be part way or meet in groups with your parents and friends and cycle together safely to school.

Music Presentations In 4th Class!

4th Class presented their fantastic music-themed presentations as part of Music Week. Many different genres were included as well as some excellent quizzes to test the audience.

1st Class Get Green Fingers!

1st Class adopted green fingers as they planted some radish seeds in the Secret Garden! They had great fun preparing the flower beds, planting and watering the seeds.

We are very excited to watch the seeds grow over the next few weeks and we hope to enjoy the radishes as part of our lunch soon!

Spring Clean on Northumberland Road!

Last month some students and parents participated in a Spring Clean. Cleaning from the former Israeli embassy all the way up to the school.

Well done and thank you to everyone who participated! It certainly looked a lot cleaner along Northumberland Rd and the school this week.

Well Done To The Girls Football Team!

The girls played against St. Matthews last month. The team was up against a very strong side. At halftime the score was 3.0 to the opposition. The team worked tirelessly for the rest of the match but sadly St. Matthews took the win 4.0.

A huge congratulations to the team for coming so far in such a short period of time and a big thank you to our opponents for the opportunity.

Junior Infants Work With Weights!

Last month, Junior infants started learning about weight in maths. ⚖️
They worked in pairs and explored the classroom for items that were heavy and light. They engaged in lots of maths talk.

1st Class Dream Homes

1st Class recently created and designed their very own “Dream Homes” using as many different recyclable materials as possible. They showcased their houses to lots of classes and teachers around the school.
Their wonderful creativity, imagination and enthusiasm was an inspiration to us all.
Well done 1st Class!!

Dragons Den In 5th Class!

Last month, five groups in 5th class entered Dragons’ Den to present their business ideas! The pitches were super engaging and very professional. After serious consideration, and praise for each group, the Dragons chose the “Create Ya Cupcake” idea with “BLFT lemonade” as a possible partner business.

6th Class Say Yes To Languages!

6th Class have completed an 8 week “Say yes to languages” programme! They were learning Irish Sign Language (ISL). Thank you to our tutor Cathal Duffy who was very impressed with the children, their engagement and eagerness to learn. Well done 6th Class!
