Happy Daffodil Day!
We had organised with our neighbours, the Irish Cancer Society, that we would mark Daffodil Day by wearing yellow at school today.
We would like to continue to support our neighbours so there will be buckets at the back gate if you wish to donate something.
An incredible €737.41 was raised for the Irish Red Cross.
Thank you for your extraordinary generosity.
It was all about Seachtain na Gaeilge last week with loads of lovely Irish activities going on in the school, where the classes showcased their Irish for the other classes. Here’s 6th class reading an Irish story to 1st class. An mhaith!
Tharraing na páistí pictiúirí chun briathra Gaelige a léiriú.
2nd class were learning all about weight last week in maths.
They really enjoyed exploring materials, weighing different classroom objects and investigating what was more than or less than 1kg.
They loved celebrating World Book Day too with lots of reading, colouring and a fun table quiz.
For the month of March in PE, classes will be participating in Dodgeball. Dodgeball is a firm favourite with the children of JSNS! The children will practice skills such as dodging, catching, throwing, blocking, and coordination.
They will also aim to improve their teamwork and communication with many laughs thrown in for good measure!
The children were asked to illustrate a picture showing the importance of groundwater as part of the Green Schools Poster competition.
The JSNS Green Schools Committee received lots of beautiful posters.
Well done to everyone who entered!
Enjoy the break everyone. We’ll see you next week!
