Lá Glas Tomorrow!

We had some amazing costumes in 4th Class for World Book Day last week!
Fantastic Mr Fox, Falkor from the Never Ending Story, Swamp Thing and even the full cast of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory attended school on the day.
Such fun!
Last week, 3rd class worked really hard on their posters for the Water For Peace Green Schools competition.
They created some very powerful messages with beautifully detailed pictures about looking after the environment.
Lovely work 3rd Class!
Senior Infants had a fantastic outing to the natural history museum, aka the Dead Zoo. It was a great day of fun and learning. The class investigated animals and their habitats and explored the Wonder Cabinet and saw different predators and prey!
2nd and 3rd Class were introduced to table tennis in the classroom as the wet weather brought PE class indoors! Our handy little desk nets make this possible. The children enjoy it so much, a few have started table tennis outside school!
Whoever said wet days can’t be fun!
1st Class has been busy exploring Capacity in Maths.
The class used non standard units such as spoons and cups to measure the capacity of different containers.
They had great fun estimating first and then measuring how much water the various containers could hold!
Looks like lots of fun 1st Class!
5th Class visited the exhibition ‘Solidarity: The Dockers of Dublin Port’ last week. The class met the historian, Daryl, the historian on site, and Paddy, who worked on the docks for 48 years, shared many stories. It was a lovely piece of Dublin history that showed ordinary people doing hard physical work but also resilience and humour. It was a wonderful experience. They also loved the goodie bags!
Many thanks to The Little Museum of Dublin and Dublin Port Company.
Last week, 4th Class played ‘Guess Who’ as Gaeilge! It was a super way to get a handle on some irregular past tense verbs and have some fun at the same time!
An mhaith rang a ceathair!
Second Class has been learning all about the Chinese New Year and the representing animals. The children looked at traditional Chinese instruments and different traditions in the country.
Everyone made Chinese paper lanterns to help with the Year of the Dragon celebrations!
Pop Quiz: What is the Dragon a symbol of?
Junior Infants are learning lots about the continent of Africa in Aistear. The children set up markets, played with African animals in small world, built some homes, created beautiful artwork and even went on their own safari to the Secret Garden.
It was a great adventure with lots of exploration and fun!
